"Pro tip: things aren’t actually heavier when you’re wearing a skirt. ;)"
— Quote of the Day by Abby Mitchell. :D
It’s so disappointing that one my favorite songs from the new Muse album is on the new Twilight soundtrack. >_< Sounds like the actual track is a bastardization of this version as well. All the same, dig the song - feels very appropriately romantic for my life right now.
Had the urge to see these again so watched em with Jaxn this week. Everyone was right - The Prestige is a lot better and perfect if you’re looking for a “wow that was effed up” movie. However! If you’re looking to woo woo over a cute boy for a movie, The Illusionist is clearly the sexyromantic choice. :D Mmmm Edward Norton with a mild accent and sad eyes… droooool. Prestige also has less re-watch value, unless like me, you forget plots as they happen.
Can I just say that my bff and her son Mason are A-FREAKING-DORABLE?!
If Rise Against had lyrics like Propagandhi, Son of Nun or Marathon, they’d probably be my favorite band, but they’re amazing as is. I want to be a female them when I grow up. Also - ARGH why are so many record companies disabling embedding?! Must be in league with YouTube for more hits. Really stupid since embedding can help a band become more popular.
Beautiful video. Going to see these guys this coming Wednesday, yay! I can’t believe he has dreds now. I don’t like it. Mostly because I want mine back.
What up muzikpc - my dad teaches at UH Manoa. Peter Chamberlain - know him?
"Evict Entitlement and Take Responsibility. One of the greatest myths that is pervasive in our culture today is that you are entitled to a great life and that somehow, somewhere, someone is responsible for filling our lives with continual happiness, exciting career options, nurturing family time and blissful personal relationships simply because we exist. But the real truth is that there is only one person responsible for the quality of the life you live. That person is YOU."

You know I agree with a lot of this. The idea of “deserving” is about as solid as the idea of “good” and “evil” - it’s a purely human concept. On the other hand, I’m not so individualist as to believe that the only person responsible for the quality of life we live is ourselves - specifically because there are so many factors that affect our lives that we have little to no control over. There are people in society who have more power than others to affect the lives of the majority, and I feel that kind of power should come with responsibility. In addition, if we’re all to live good lives, we need to realize that it’s not everyone for themselves but that we’re all in this together, and it’s not about YOU, it’s about US. We should all do our best, not just for ourselves, but for society as a whole.
Unlike V, I wouldn’t blame the situation of society on the vote of the people over those holding the puppet’s strings, but V for Vendetta still has an inspiring message about the power of the people. …Even if having an antihero like V behind the scenes sort of made the revolution aspect a lot easier. The movie is about the IDEA, not the details. Those are for real life I suppose.

HAHAHA, I miss RIT!
also total RIT.
found this fbook group “Overheard at RIT” which is fullfilling all the things that i missed about that place pretty well… hahah
40% hick
44% annoying emo/scene kids
14% slutty girls/annoying boys
2% people actually worth talking to.sounds about right.
the concentration of slutty girls is far too low in your calculations
wow. the tables have turned(dif time, dif place…). let me see if i can figure out what my high school was like about 6-10 yrs back… ‘scene’ kids did not exist in my corner of rural massachusetts back then…
- 40% kids that went a few times/yr to go see “dave”, oft wore khakis, most with @ least 1 varsity sport
- 20% non-“dave” fans, that explored & practiced various forms of “self expression”
- 15% hicks/from otis & the dale & ‘ham
- 08% uhhhh. slutty girls & guys with tempers
- 05% kids that we believe shared the same Slipknot tshirt, on rotation [‘goth’-ish
- 05% housebuilding & automotive, so gone half the day or more
- 05% average folks that had good study habits but weren’t actually honors material
- 02% closest thing to scene kids we had… this was me and a few others…
Haha, this is an interesting game. Keep in mind my first highschool had about 300 kids so the percentages may seem high.
50% preps/ athletes/ smart kids/ rich kids/ Italians (5% of which were actually nice to us plebes).
20% “hicks” - many of whom I was actually friends with, before I became so sensitive to the ignorance of bigotry.
20% freaks/ geeks/ druggies/ theatre kids/ celtidorks/ art kids - this is the group I was in.
10% “smokers” - They were like a different, angrier kind of unpopular
5% punks/ skaters/ ska kids - there was a hick and freaks/geeks crossover here.
5% goodie goodies - crossovers from all categories, wore mickey mouse sweatshirts a lot
I dunno, I think my memory is skewed by the intense alienation I felt as a freak. :)

Holy nostalgia batman. Are these the tracks we used to play on so often? Leave quarters and pennies on? Cross while holding something metal and make a wish, usually about a boy? Well, boys at least for me.
![DUDE I always used to talk about wanting something like this! I was of course imagining cute floating digital emoticons above the car, but this will do.

Clever Idea of the Day: Kevin @ The Imaginary Zebra came up with a nifty idea to help reduce road rage: Install “Thanks” and “Sorry” light boxes in his car that can be switched on as necessary (e.g., when unintentionally cutting someone off, when someone lets him cut in front of them, etc.)
If you ask me, this feature should come standard.
Plenty of process shots here.

i could use those. i usually say i’d love to have a LED screen that scrolls for more custom messages but this would cover the bulk of them](http://21.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ksjzxlnZhQ1qzpwi0o1_500.jpg)
