Siighhh. I feel obligated to say this. Recently I’ve done my part to spread a recent internet meme: http://tumblrcloud.icodeforlove.com/.
Some people are griping because the little app asks for your Tumblr username and password AND doesn’t have a Privacy Policy published on the site. I didn’t even blink at this actually, since I’m so used to entering my account information (I might have blinked if it had been my Facebook account, which has been hijacked before, or my email account, which is actually important). Some people are blinking, so I felt it would be responsible of me to mention that maybe you should change your password.
On the other hand, the person who coded the project is directly asking Tumblr for the ability to access user data without requiring their account password, and as I’m a developer familiar with amateurs creating awesome tools for people to use, I frankly trust this person without issue.
